Terms of Service
Services Provided
Thank you for trusting Tails of Sinton Green Dog Grooming with your dog(s). These Terms and Conditions explain how services are provided, what you can expect, and what is expected from you as a client. Tails of Sinton Green Dog Grooming prioritises your dog’s comfort and emotional wellbeing over aesthetics. Our aim is to ensure grooming is a positive, or at least tolerable, experience. We will not force a dog through any process if they are not ready or if doing so may negatively impact their long-term trust in grooming. While every effort is made to complete each groom in full, this cannot be guaranteed. If a dog is unable to tolerate part of the grooming process due to stress or anxiety, the full grooming fee will still apply. Some dogs may require additional time, multiple sessions, or a gradual introduction to grooming. Recommendations may include split appointments, training sessions, or regular grooming schedules. By booking or attending an appointment, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.
Appointments & Cancellations
Appointments can be requested via WhatsApp, phone, text message, email, Facebook Messenger, or in person. Bookings are only confirmed once confirmation has been provided by the salon. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, at least 48 hours’ notice is required. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a charge of 75% of the full grooming price. Failure to attend an appointment without notice (a no-show) will also result in a 75% charge, which must be paid before any future appointments can be booked.
Drop-Off and Collection
Clients are expected to arrive on time for their appointment. Late arrival may result in a reduced service to ensure the schedule can be maintained, and the full grooming price will still apply. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, the appointment may be cancelled and a 75% cancellation fee charged. Dogs must be collected promptly at the agreed collection time. A short grace period of up to 15 minutes may be allowed without charge. Collection between 15 and 30 minutes late will incur a fee of £10, and collection more than 30 minutes late will incur a fee of £20.
Health & Safety
Owners must inform the salon of any medical conditions, medications, or behavioural concerns prior to grooming. All dogs must be registered with a veterinary practice and have up-to-date vaccinations. Dogs must also be microchipped, but not within 48 hours prior to their grooming appointment. For safety reasons, pregnant dogs or dogs in season will not be groomed. Dogs with active infections or contagious conditions may be refused. Dogs presenting with fleas or other parasites may be refused grooming or may incur a cleaning surcharge to cover additional sanitation requirements.
Matted Coats
Ongoing coat maintenance is the responsibility of the owner. Severely matted coats may require clipping or shaving to remove the matting safely and humanely. This process carries risks, including skin irritation, cuts, or the discovery of underlying skin conditions. A matting surcharge will apply, starting from £25 depending on severity. In cases where blades are damaged due to matting, a blade sharpening or replacement fee of £12.50 per blade may be charged, subject to change. By booking an appointment, you give consent for necessary coat removal, including shaving, where required for the welfare of your dog, even if prior contact is not possible.
Senior & Medically Compromised Dogs
Senior dogs and dogs with existing medical conditions are groomed at the owner’s risk. Grooming may cause stress or exacerbate underlying health issues, and in some cases previously undiagnosed conditions may become apparent during the grooming process. Grooms may be adapted, shortened, or stopped entirely if it is in the best interest of the dog’s health and welfare. It is recommended that veterinary advice is sought prior to booking grooming appointments for elderly or medically compromised dogs.
Behaviour & Handling
The salon reserves the right to refuse or stop grooming if a dog displays aggressive or unsafe behaviour. Muzzles may be used where necessary to ensure the safety of both the dog and the groomer. Dogs registered under the Dangerous Dogs Act will not be accepted. Dogs that have been sedated prior to the appointment will also not be groomed. Owners are responsible for ensuring their dog has had the opportunity to toilet before arrival at the salon.
Emergency Veterinary Care
In the event of a medical emergency during grooming, the grooming process will be stopped immediately and every effort will be made to contact you. If you cannot be reached, veterinary care will be sought without delay. All veterinary costs incurred are the responsibility of the owner. By leaving your dog in our care, you authorise us to act in your dog’s best interests in the event of an emergency.
Pricing & Payment
All prices provided are estimates and may vary depending on the dog’s coat condition, behaviour, and the time required to complete the groom. Additional charges may apply for factors such as matting, parasites, or behavioural challenges. Payment is due in full at the time of collection. Accepted payment methods include cash, card, and bank transfer. As grooming is a service, refunds are not typically provided once the service has been completed.
Photography & Media
Photographs and videos of your dog may be taken for record-keeping or promotional purposes. These images may be used on social media, the salon website, or other marketing materials. All media captured remains the property of Tails of Sinton Green Dog Grooming.
